I never find a lot... just 1 or 2 a week. They are never in my kitchen either... they are always in the bathroom, or in the kids' bedroom.

I have, on occasion, mistakenly left food out in the kitchen, and yet I never see them on the food in the morning or in the middle of the night when I come upon it.

Do I have an infestation? Or does one of the other attached apartments have them and they just come over on occasion??

Will it do me any good to have the exterminator come in since he will only spray my apartment, and not the whole building? I hate having the exterminator come since I have 2 kids and a dog, and I am worried about the effects of the pesticide.

buy some Boric acid powder, and spray it behind the toilet, or where ever you see them, running, [read the label, ]
no need for an exterminator, this is a lot less cost, and more effective,
sounds like there coming from another apt.

Hey T!

When i first moved in in Aug of 05, we had them too! Very few, and always 1 or 2 only in the restrooms. I had the office call the exterminator and that seemed to take care of the prob. He only sprayed outside on the patio, NOT inside. He told me they were probably coming from the pipes/sewage or another apartment. I was sooooo grossed out! You know ME, miss OCD queen of cleanliness. Have them spray outside ONLY and that should work if it's only 1 or 2 every so often!
GOOD LUCK!

Yes like William said, use boric acid where you see them running around. If it gets on them they carry it back to the nest one touch can kill many roaches.

Be careful about kids and pets.
