have you tried talking to your mom about that? maybe if she knew you felt unsafe in that neighborhood she would consider moving to a different part of town or something. try talking to her calmly about it and reason with her.

I have no idea how old are you, but it seems to me that you need to talk to your mom ( if you have not done so yet ) and tell her the way you feel about you guys been secure in that neighborhood, then if you are old enough I think you can take the decision for your self and move out, support your self and get going, if you both are adults you both are able to decide what you thinks is best, so good luck !!!
** also do you have any other family members that can help you out truing to convince your mom to move or even helping you moving out of there to a safer place with them even if it is temporarily until you get on your own

<>If your mother doesn't want to move, consider trying to organize a neighborhood crime watch along with your neighbors. You can get the police local government to install signs and help with other aids to stave off crime in your area. And every time you or your neighbors see something illegal, call it in to the police. Just like spraying for cockroaches- if you do it enough, they might not disappear, but they will go somewhere else!

If you're over 18 then you can do what you want providing you have the funds.

If its really bad and you are under 18 you can file for emancipation but that's not as glamourous as it sounds.

If you feel truly unsafe and your mother will not address your concerns, you can contact CPS.

You didn't state you age so I'm guessing you're a minor. Unfortunately, what you mom says goes, even if her answer is unreasonable. She must have reasons why she won't. Perhaps they are financially based? She really should take your safety into consideration as well as her own. Please sit down and have a real conversation with her about this.
