Sprinkle 20 Mule Team Borax laundry powder (contains boric acid) over your carpets, furniture, beds, etc., wait 30 minutes and vacuum...it will kill the fleas and is safe for you, your kids and birds. Do it again every other day for larva growing to adult, it takes 7-10 days for flea larva to grow to adult. Be sure to dispose of vacuum bag each time. Wash bedding, towels, fabric's etc.
For your yard, put 2 tablespoons liquid dish soap into a spray bottle and fill with water and spray your yard
or use liquid garlic spray, available at garden centers and hardware stores, it's a natural and safe repellent used for fleas and many other pests, you attach the bottle to your garden hose and spray your yard.
or buy online

With fleas you need a multi prong attack. The spray didn't get rid of the eggs that were in the carpet. There are sprays that also attack those. Instead I'd suggest using the vacuum as your first line of defense. Daily or twice a day, vacuum the everything! Ideally it should be a HEPA filter vacuum and then throw the bag away........oh, the cost! You can even freeze the bag first, wrap it in plastic before putting into freezer, LOL! and then throw away on garbage day. After 2 weeks you should break the egg laying cycle.
Second thought .....a product called Diatomaceous Earth or DE. It is the shells of prehistoric diatoms that will pierce the exoskeletons of fleas and kill them. It is very efficient.......the catch is you shouldn't breathe this stuff. You wear a mask when applying to carpet and once in the fibers, it is stable......unless your kids are rolling around on the carpet. After a few day you vacuum it back up....HEPA filter please. There are 2 grades of DE, the food and garden grade and the swimming pool filter grade. NEVER the pool filter grade, that's strictly for pool filters.
I get mixed reports of DE around birds. Poultry farmers swear it keeps the flies down in their poultry pens, others worry about long term effect. Well, if the bird is for food and has a life of 8 weeks, who cares. Pet birds........well, I'm torn on that. Perhaps if the birds were removed while the DE was in the house..........??

When we moved into our new house it was infested with fleas... !! They had an untreated indoor/outdoor cat and dog... Anyway, I had a 3 month old and a 2 yr. old so I couldn't use anything too dangerous ! I got a 12lb bag of baking soda and mixed it with 2-3 lbs of regular iodized table salt.. This cost me about $5 at the whole sale club and I sprinkled all over my carpets.. The baking soda smothers the fleas and the salt punctures the eggs.. I left it on at least overnight longer if you can.. We hadn't officially moved our big stuff into the house... ! I put a cheapie flea collar in my bagless vacuum and vacuumed the whole entire house ! The baking soda will also freshen/deodorize the carpet and the salt will brighten... It will vacuum up grey ! I vacuumed everyday for about 2 weeks... Then I bought some foggers and let those loose in the house ! I put two in the basement, and one in every room.. Opened all the doors and it worked nicely.. We also DID NOT treat our dog upon bringing her to the house and she served as "bait" if any fleas were in the house. We let her go acouple days and then we bathed her/treated her ! We check every so often for fleas by leaving a small desk lamp on a white saucer w/ some water and dishsoap in it... So far so good we've been clear... I STILL use baking soda on my carpets every other week or so.... Good luck

There are little plug in things that glow blue that go into your electric sockets that attract and kill them somehow. Get your carpets and furniture shampooed, and get the little sticky traps that go on the floors, and just put them out at night after the kids have gone to bed. The fleas jump in and cannot get out.
All your bedding and clothing should be washed in hot water, bleach when possible.
You may need to have the house sprayed or bombed again, just be sure to take the birds and kids elsewhere, then wash all the counters, dust the tables with pledge, and make sure there is no residue where the kids can get it in their mouths.
Good luck.

Precor is the best professional grade product out there for fleas.
If you want to do it right use Precor. I just talked to a lady that had fleas in her apartment and no pets. I recommended the Precor, and she said that they were completely gone after 1 application.
Cy-Kick CS works well on fleas also, but not as good as Precor.
Raid foggers don't work... I am surprised that they are still trying to sell them. I have seen a vacant house get hit with those 3 times in one month and still have fleas.... 3 times with no people or dogs carrying them around... seriously.

I learned this years ago. Place a plate in the center of the room when it's dark. Pour Pine Sol in the plate and place a small little hurricane type candle in the center and light it. They are drawn to the heat and will mistake it for being an animal. They jump into the Pine Sol and meet only death.
You'll want to do this regularly for some time to come so to catch the hatching young before they can reach maturity and start the process over

Mix syrup, rubbing alchol, and water in a little container. Put it in the corners of your house. The fleas will go after it like it's candy. You may have to sweep a couple times a week because it's going to kill them so fast. This works with all house bugs that are "taking over". Good luck!

They have flea bombs that u can buy for cheap. Only problem is you have to leave the house for a few hours. You may have gotten them from the beach, or some wooded area, or sandy area,. We had that problem a few years ago, it could also be from friends with dogs/cats that have them in there clothes, and they bring them over, or visversa you may have went to there house, and got them in your clothes. Like i said though, they have flea bomb you can use, good luck

I would call the pest company and get your money back.
You need to clean all the fabric in your house, vacuum the floors 2 or 3 times a day....it wouldn't hurt to shampoo the carpet. You may also want to get your yard sprayed...

Fleas are impossible to get completly onces your over run. I would pull up the carpet, get it out of there, Clean down all the floors with a diluted bleach underneath, bomb the house with an exterminator and stick to hardwood floors.
