The type that messes up the insects' nervous system.. like Raid. How do they work? I know the insecticide interferes with the signals in the insects' body and the insect will have trouble percieving and manuvering, but how does that kill them?

I found a website that shows all the upcoming estate sales in my area with several pictures of the items. Judging from the pictures, it looks like there's a lot of NICE furniture and such that can be at these sales. So, what exactly are these sales like? Do the higher end items (ex: an oak armoire) go for a ridiculuous amount of money, or is it still possible to get a great bargain? Also, do you bid on the items or are the items priced to begin with?

Any info is appreciated (even info I didn't ask about). Tell me your experiences at these sales. Thanks, folks!

I have found small bugs in my house. Usually under funiture that I moved, in my spare bedroom, and in spare blankets.

They are approx 1/8 inch long. Brown head. Brown and beige striped body, 4 legs, and white underneath.

They move very slowly, and the dead ones I have found seem to be stretched out like a worm and turn a darker colour.

I do have cats, but they have no bugs on them.

I have had a few itchy red bite marks on my body, but I'm not sure if they are related.

Please help!!!! Thank you.

Cooks, fishermen and waiters handle smelly foods continulally so to remove these odors from their hands they rub stainless steel under running water and, Voila!, the odor goes away. How does this work? Is it chemical or just physical?

I'm looking for a mimosa pudica - otherwise known as The Sensitive Plant. I'm having a hard time finding one in Minnesota. Preferably in the metro area.

Have already called Bachman's and looked at Linder's website with no luck.

What are the chances that there are more? I just eliminate any spiderwebs, dust, etc... by super-cleaning the patio in hopes that I got rid of any eggs, but how can I be sure that there was only one? Do they "travel" in groups of more than one usually? I've been searching the net and cannot find an answer to this question.
I'm totally freaked out. Eek!

We have alot of bats in our attic (which we never use). The door into the attic is nailed shut but we've seen some bat crawling through the vent that leads from the attic to the outdoors. We would like to see some more up close. Where can I get an affordable bat house? Does Lowes, Menards or Home Depot carry any?

I have spoken to my parents on the matter already, but my mother thinks it is the best house for our family. It is about 10 miles away from my school which I moved to two semesters ago. (I really don't want to move schools again). This means getting to school would involve a walk to a station, then a train to a main station, a 20minute train journey then a 30min walk to school.
I currently live within 20mins walk of my school. I really don't want to move - the house is ugly, the garden is small & my parents don't think they can afford to decorate it nicely & change the (really old-fashioned) kitchen.

The reason for the move is my father having a stroke last September, and he cannot work due to this. He can talk, drive, walk & write so is making good progress but is a pessimist.

My mum is trying to encourage him to move - he has lived within 10 minutes drive of my elderly grandmother since he was a baby.

HELP!

This is probably a very stupid question, but I'm really "green" when it comes to gardening.
I would like to plant groundcovers in the bald spots in my flower beds, but I know that there are spring bulbs like daffodils, crocuses and snowdrop bulbs in the earth there. If I plant a groundcover there, will the bulbs be able to poke out in the spring ? Or will they get stifled ?
Maybe this depends upon the exact kind of groundcover I use...
if so, then please tell me what I should chose.
I was thinking of Snow-in-summer
Thanks in advance !
