You can buy soil in bags that have no seeds in it. What they really mean is the seeds that are in it will never grow because the soil has been thermally sterilized. Heating soil up to 250 degrees F will kill nearly all the seeds (a few tree seeds can survive this but they are not likely in there anyway).

You can do something nearly as effective at home. Cut a sheet of black plastic (paint department) to the size of area you need to sterilize. Place it on the ground where you want it, and either place rocks around the edges to hold it down, or stake it. Let the sun shine on it for about a week and everything under the sheet will be dead - even the seeds.

Ahhh the frustrations of the weed. A pretty little bird, flies over and drops a seed, A dandelion explodes from a lite breeze in the neighbors yard and sends it's little seed fluttering into an unsuspecting garden. A plant from the otherside of the fence reaches it's delicate root system out to STRANGLE YOUR ROSES.
Such a simple little unwanted plant that seems to works its way into any garden without permission and DRIVE'S US ALL CRAZY!!!
Nope, no weed filter here.

Well, you can cook them out. If you have a plot of soil in your yard that you are wanting to plant in you could till it up, amend it how you like, water it in well, and then cover it completely with clear plastic tarp making sure to seal all the edges. Doing this will heat up the soil inside the tarp which will destroy the seeds germinating abilities. Leave it covered for a couple of weeks at least.

You could have it irradiated. You might even be able to microwave it and kill some of the seeds. However you will also damage the vital nutrients found in the soil that your plants will need.

look in the weed section there should be a thing for sale there that you spreed on your garden and it will kill anything that is sprouting not the seeds so much but they keep the seeds from growing and kills them. i had to stop using it because i wanted grass to grow and it didn't nor did my plants but it worked after i planted my plants so i would do this after your garden is done! it won't hurt your plants unless they are seedlings!

i forgot the name of it I want to stay it starts with a "P"
