I always buy organic produce when possible. Someone told me receintly not to bother if it's from another country as it gets sprayed with chemicals anyways before it enters Canada. It makes sence, is this true? Thanks

My apartment managers and staff are all terribly rude. Every time I've had any sort of problem, it's been a serious hassle to deal with.

I've seen two baby roaches, on tonight and one yesterday night. It suddenly got super hot (105 degrees) and dry, so I thought maybe they just wandered in. If that's the case, i don't want to deal with the apartment people.

If that means there's some sort of infestation (I dunno, my apartment is pretty darn clean, but maybe it's a neighbor) I need to go through my apartment to get an exterminator.

What do you think?

we have something in the garden eating the bottom of our tomatoes, we know what the terapin (?) turtle bite looks like because we have had some of those, we also know what it is when a raccoon eats from the garden, because we are dealing with that too, we would like to know if there is an insect of some kind that can eat what would be about a 2 lb tomato and what to do to rid ourselves of the problem. any help at all would be very appreciated. --- if it helps at all, the ones that are half eaten, are always around the bottom of the plant. no higher up than mid schin.

I have several plants like Dracaena (lucky bamboo), Venus Fly Trap, and an Orchid all of which require distilled water because they are sensitive to chlorine in tap water. I also Have several fish tanks that require me to use a water conditioner to remove the chlorine and chemicals so I was wondering if I can use conditioned water (not tank water) instead of distilled water to water these plants. I'm kind of tired of buying special water just for a few plants. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried this.
Anyone have any opinions or facts about this idea?

I found a bug tonight that, other than the color scheme, I would have mistken for a lady bug. I know its a beetle, but its color scheme is black with white dots instead of the ladybug's read and black. Bug lovers, any ideas?

What does your dream/future home simply have to have?? You can only pick 3 things. THREE THINGS....lol....so set the priorities straight.

MY PICKS: A library room filled with the classics, a giant leather chair that makes me feel like a baby doll when I curl up in it, and the complete Williams-Sonoma Mauviel Copper cooking set....(lol i know 20 people will have to combine their money and do this as a wedding present or something)

I dug up a huge part of my yard to plant gardens. I plant things as I can but the weeds are uncontrollable. I am pulling them all of the time. Should I use weed killer? If I do when could I plant new plants? I already put down a thick layer of newspaper and mulch. I was hoping that flowers would take over so I didn't have as many weeds to pull.

Where i live now has underground utilities. I was looking at a house that seems really nice except it has 2 big utility wires running from the pole by the curb, hanging across the lawn, and attaching onto the front of the house in a very visible spot. This looks ugly as hell and I wonder if I can have these wires from the pole to the house removed and run underground? How much would it cost?

I am standing in my back garden, looking towards my house. on the right there is fencing, but no other houses attached. Behind me there is fencing, but no other houses attached. On the left, there is fencing, but one house attached (our house is a semi detached). Who owns what?? I assumed as we have sole ownership of the right and back fences, our next door neighbours will automatically be responsible for the left fence, simply because, if they're not, we are responsible for all three sections of fencing, and may aswell live in a detached property! They are saying we are responsible, but are also telling the people who are attached to their back fence, and their left side fence, that they are responsible too!? So according to them, they have no fencing responsibilities at all!?!?

Instead of using winterizing chemicals (the kit), can one use a triple dose of shock and double algaecide for closing and then put the winter cover on?
I have always used the kit, but found that it is basically the same thing as far as shock and algaecide, but way more expensive to buy the kit.
What do you think? Would it work?

Does anyone know of a spider repellant? I've seen plug in things to deter insects but nothing for our hairy friends. I don't really want to kill them. My new house is spider central and I can't stand them.
