we have something in the garden eating the bottom of our tomatoes, we know what the terapin (?) turtle bite looks like because we have had some of those, we also know what it is when a raccoon eats from the garden, because we are dealing with that too, we would like to know if there is an insect of some kind that can eat what would be about a 2 lb tomato and what to do to rid ourselves of the problem. any help at all would be very appreciated. --- if it helps at all, the ones that are half eaten, are always around the bottom of the plant. no higher up than mid schin.

Raccoons will eat ANYTHING- if they're Hungry enough ! So don't let it surprise You. Even Raccoons will go "Vegan" -if there's nothing ELSE around... As for keeping them OUT of your Garden; good luck ! Short of building a Dog House with a BIG Rottweiler in it to Guard your Garden- keeping Raccoons away from it is going to be QUITE the Challenge !!!

there are bugs called tomato worms, and they can totally destroy tomatos themselves and the plants as well,
there is a powder that you can get to put on them it wont hurt the plants or the tomotos, but it gets rid of the big green tomato worms.
