That completely depends on what you call a "Banana Spider". Some orb weavers like the golden or yellow silks are sometimes called Banana spiders. They are big, but completely harmless and very beneficial. However, there are the true Banana spiders from South America which are brown, live in the banana trees, and are extremely poisonous. Not poisonous!, It's real name is the Golden silk spider. As far as killing them, I'd use some raid, that might not kill it but it will make fall to the ground then you can............be gentle. Good Luck! Look at the picture of it below.
