I was told by a contractor hired to install a septic tank system on 11 acres of property in rual West Texas that soil samples taken from the lot require analysis in Austin and this is why after being paid a large sum of money up front, he can't start the job for more than one month. Can this be true? Do all septic installations require some sort of approval from the State Capitol? Seems odd.

Thanks for your comments.

I heeard that the a/c use gas to cool the house is very expensive, some people's pg&e bill goes up to 500 dollars. Is that for real?

When having a home inspection of the condo that we are in the process of purchasing, we found that the dryer was vented directly into the basement ( where the dryer is located ). There are no windows and we do not yet know if we would be allowed to cut a hole to vent to the outside of our unit. The home inspector suggested that we maybe able to vent to the sewer line, which is located next to the dryer. He said that the pipe was large enough. Would anyone have any information on how this works, what conditions make it possible to do, and what any drawbacks maybe? Thank you

I have a Husqvarna petrol driven 'Rancher 45' chainsaw. The oiler has stopped. Before I take it to a repair shop, are there any 'most likely' things that I could easily check myself? I've never had the covers off. All I ever do is sharpen the chain.

Now that it's winter I need it! Fortunately I have another Husqvarna.

my mil has an above ground pool with that plastic/rubber type liner. this winter she let it get really dirty(i mean there's leaves all over, it and the alges pretty bad). my husband and i would like to be able to use it. yesturday we emptyed it out, and today i'm going to get all the debre out of the bottom. i was wondering what kind of cleaners can you use to get the sides clean? like algee removers? can you use household ones, like the kind for cleaning bathtubs and showers? or would that be bad for the lining?
thanks-Juli

I've had the ducts cleaned out, but the lint filter still fills up and has to be cleaned out twice during each cycle. Also, lint gets all over the apartment.

I just moved into an apartment and everytime I use the toilet, after I flush, I hear a sound that is best described as a FOGHORN. It lasts for about 4 seconds and as you can imagine is VERY disturbing. Any plumbers on Yahoo answers? Help?

My AC duct pipe, the coil plastic pipe, wrap around with fibre insulation and outside plastic, is broken. Can I use tape to tape it back and cut away the fibre insulation, then put a new one around it and tape it back together. I search online find the DIY thing, but couldn't.

My duct work is good, it broken becasue when we cut out ceilling drywall, we cut it accidentallly.

Is there are any thing we need to aware?

Thanks.

Yesterday I noticed my fridge light was out. My first thought is the power went our because there were thunderstorms in the area but I realized that wasn't that case because all if the light in the cieling of the kitchen were still on. Next I noticed the microwave was out. The microwave is plugged into the socket a few feet above where the fridge is plugged in. Next I unplugged the fridge and plugged it into a different socket and sure enough it worked. My first attempt at solving the problem was the circuit breaker, but nothing was wrong there. Then I started thinking maybe a mouse chewed through the wire. We just sealed a few holes in the house because of mice so they could be stuck in the walls. I'm not really sure why but the latter is what I think the problem is. Does anyone have any idea on how to pinpoint it? And let's say it is a mouse-chewed wire, how can I fix that? I like doing things myself if it is easy enough but I have no problem calling the pros if needed.
