From what you describe, there is almost certainly a blockage in the fuel system. You will have to strip down the carburettor and make sure everything is clean. Make sure the can that you fill your mower from is clean too.

there is mostly a mix adjustment screw on the carburettor. It many times has a spring decrease than it. start up the mower and screw it in a million/4 turn at a time till the mower achieves it somewhat is quickest tick over. whether it somewhat is a mower that prevents, extremely than ticks over, use trial and blunder counting the a million/4 turns in to get it to run desirable. do no longer overdo the adjustment, it somewhat is totally gentle, and a susceptible mixture will lose skill and burn plugs. save a eye on the screw, as each and every on occasion they unscrew with vibration, which in all probability brought about your over wealthy working.

Sounds like the carburator needs cleaning. It needs to be removed, taken apart, soaked in a good cleaner, blown out with compressed air and put back together with a rebuild kit. Also check the fuel tank and lines to be sure they are clean.

check the 2 leads from the switch , they are always going faulty , and check the push fit connectors that are exposed,
if not check the spark plug, sounds like its on its last legs,(they put cheap ones in )
