It is a 2-1/2 ton 12 seer unit that has been discontinued!!! Also it shows in the book to be a CKJ30-1A not a -14. The CKJ is just a designation the 30 means 30,000 BTU's (12,000 = 1 ton) and the 1A is also a designator. All of these numbers are identified in a Goodman catalog and also give you the SEER rating of the unit. Service men are usually concerned with the tonnage of the unit only, unless they have to replace it. Then they use these numbers to match it to an evaporator. Hope this answers your question.

If you just need a compressor model then you might have a hard time. If you want the hole unit model number then look inside the service panel. I believe that era of ComfortMaker will have a etched metal plate near the bottom of the unit on the inside. If you need just a compressor model, call either ComfortMaker customer service or an HVAC company that sells Carrier. Carrier owns ComfortMaker so a Carrier authorized dealer should be able to look up the compressor if you have the unit model.

it is a 2 1/2 ton unit 12 seer this is what the model number indicates.....ckj is the designator for the guide to the unit..30 being the tons for the unit at 12000 btu's per ton...the 14 should be 1a and this indicates a revision or change to the original unit ckj30......the serial number....usually the numbers here indicate the year month and day it was made the line it was made on and who inspected the unit

The condensing unit was manufactured in the 11th week of 1998. Being a Goodman brand, it tells the tech that it was purchased by someone on a very limited budget, or they were a contractor who wanted a unit attached to the house they were selling.
