Does anyone know if this it is acceptable in the state of Texas (Houston to be specific) or as part of the UPC Plumbing code to not have overflow prevention at bathroom vanity sinks? Or, does anyone know where i can find the part of the codebook to reference this question.
My bath vanity sinks do not have an overflow prevention. If i turn on the faucet and plug the drain, it will overflow. The Powder room pedestal sink has 3 small homes on the inside of the sink bowl on the fornt lip where if the water level reaches, it will drain out the sink drain. The Master bath and others with a vanity cultured marble cabinet top sink do not have these. I am trying to figure out if this is acceptable, I have googled everything i can think of. TIA.

I don't want to call a plumber - too expenisve.

It hasn't overflowed but keeps making noises and runs constantly. I'm wasting water but my bill won't go up (fixed water rate).

Should I just leave it alone because it isn't causing any problems?

I would like it fixed if possible and cheaply but it isn't a dire need. Could the running lead to more but serious problems?

I have a boat dock. about 14 X 26. It's against my seawall, in a tidal, hurricane prone area of FLA> I have piles on the outside. Two of which are very tall. I have a slide mooring system that allows my 42 ft powercat yacht to float up and down with tides. I am concerned that the piles could give way from the mud floor and riip the whole thing away in a good storm. Tidal surge wont be a problem as I have the ability to go about 10-15 ft above normal. I think I need to add dolphins to the existing piles. I see them installed around my neighborhood. Kinda like three shorter piles in a triangle, or pyramid shape attached to the main pile. I think it can be done with water pressure? Any thoughts? Thanx.

i have a brand new house in middle of corn fields. last winter, mice squeezed under the rubber strip on bottom of the garage door. i adjusted the door down, but i think they can still get in. I found mouse droppings under the hood of my Supra that gets driven about 500 miles per year, and also in the air box. if i can't seal out mouse completely out of the garage, what can i do to keep them away from my car?

We've had a lot of rain recently and the extra water has flooded the exhuast pipe from my dryer. Now my dryer won't run, becuase it doesn't have good air flow. My dryer is under warranty but I'm not sure if the dryer manufacturer fixes stuff like this. Who would I call? Can I do this myself?

Some was also spilt all down the new fireplace and mantlepiece. Is there any way of getting it off those artificial coal type pieces you get in gas fires? My mate had a new one put in as a gift to her Nan and someone has got candle wax on the pine surround and 'coal' effect pieces in the fire itself. How can we save it? It looked amazing. Now looks waxy! She does not need to be told to put the candles away. Already been done. Will we have to buy some new ''coal'' or is there a way to get rid of it?

My washing machine is a GE Prodigy Profile. It doesn't seem to have trouble agitating but when it gets to the spin cycle the agitator in the center seems to have problems turning. Sometimes it helps to lessen the load but sometimes it doesn't, it also will ocasionally start spinning if you give it a little push start but once again that also doesn't seem to help all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions or possibly even a solution because I am really not very fond of laundry mats!!

I own a 2000 sq. ft. home on a crawlspace. The home does have a water problem of seppage water going under foundation and into the crawlspace area, on average I would say 8-10 gallons of water sit under my home at times, especially around the crawlspace door. The Flooring in my home is really bad unlevel though, we have carpet, linoleum, and laminate flooring.you can walk over certain areas of the floor though and feel it under your feet that it is uneven. I also have some cracks mostly minor that are in the sheetrock mostly over doorways. Here lately I am having a problem when I walk over the floor hearing Popping, like the sub has came up maybe? I'm at a lost with this place. I bought it 2 years ago and its been nothing but a worry wart. My wife and I knew this was a mistake from begining but we love the house so much! anyway, how do I even the floor for one after I try and fix this water problem, what are these cracks in my sheetrock from, and how do I fix the popping of underlayment?

I found a house I like. The electrical box was unlike any I'd ever seen before. The box itself looked really old. There were only two fuses inside. They were very large. About 5" long and 2" wide. Anybody ever seen one of these? I'm not sure if I want to buy the house, but I'm sure an inspector would know right away. I am curious about it now. Got an answer?

I'd like to stain my old deck. I began pressure washing and the wood lightened up considerably. The more I wash the lighter it gets but it's quite time consuming. How do you determine how much "washing" is enough? Thanks for any good advice.

We are selling our house to a buyer who requested a home inspection for this week. We agreed to a lower price, and even included appliances. I have anxiety about the plumbing. There are no leaks, however, when you flush the toilets, you hear a rumbling 10 seconds after wards. (ranch house). People told us, we might have a clogged vent that goes to the roof. Is that going to be an issue?

Our roof does not leak, but our gutters are probably clogged, and the roof doesn't look great on a portion of the house. Any concerns?

How thorough are these guys (Western PA)? Or am I paranoid? No leaks or mold or dampness anywhere. Thanks.

How good are they and how are their Zero Point turn machines for longevity. Have a John Deere 314 that cut 3 acres+ of grass and hauled since new in 1979 and engine lasted 27 years before being rebuilt becuase it was burning oil.
Stopped into Gravely Ariens and just wonder how good they are. Still will never sell the old deere but just wanted to know thinking on another tractor.
