My toliet was fine, then on Sunday I put one of those blue things to help water stains in my toilet tank, by monday it was leaking from one of the tank bolts. We cleaned out the blue stuff, flushed several times to make sure it was out, after we did that the leak disappeared. What happened and do I need to replace my toliet, if the leak stopped.

Just hoping someone out there has an answer. When I turn on a faucet at home there is sometimes a delay before water comes out. Other times the water flow starts, then it seems like air is forced through and water goes everywhere. Finally water may spurt out, then nothing for a few seconds, and then the flow resumes.

I am lost on this one and would greatly appreciate any help.

Hi-toilet-shower-and tubs backup with yucky when flushing also this last time it did smell in one of the tubs. I have heard gurgling on occasion. I plunged all went down, but this is the third time this has happened. Manufactured home on septic that is only 3 years old and only 2 of us, I am very careful not to put garbage down the drains or to much water.
Can I snake it myself and if so do I go through the toilet or the drainpipe near the septic outside? (If I can get it opened) Also I was told it might be the filter underground by the septic and it might need changing or cleaning can I do this myself?? Please any help appreciated!

I just bought a house and the floor is done in ceramic tile (white and light grey) with black grout between the joints. I have it throughout the kitchen, diningroom, entry, 2 bathrooms, hallway and laundryroom. What can I do to lighten it up?

I borrowed a wire dog crate (Coated wire pretty heavy duty) and my crazy beagle messed up the front including pulling some wires off. Is there some way I can fix this at home? I plan on telling her but I at least want to have it fixed!

Do I go with pressure treated pine or regular pine (or other type of wood) (because of the mostiure content) I am looking to replace the railings on my deck with white and add a pergola. They need to be white to match other surrounding elements. Also what kind of paint? (oil-based, exterior?)
One note: please don't say cedar, since paint and cedar don't react well together. Thanks in advance!!!

I have a Mira shower (model unknown) with a circular dial to turn water on/off and a similar dial below to control temparature.

The temparature dial will not move. It has a red button on it and by pressing this I can take off the silver coloured outer casing of the dial. The inside is black plastic so I do not really want to use pliers to force it round in case it breaks. I have tried spraying with WD40 but it has not loosened.

There is a screw at the front of the internal black plastic knob but tightening or loosening this does not seem to do anything.

There are 2 screws which attach the silver coloured plate with the two dials to the wall. I do not think taking this off will do any good.

Any ideas anyone? The temperature is stuck at 30 degrees and I'm worried that in the summer I will have a choice of being burnt or smelly!

I need help!! or advise... I am changing my room's light switch to a more modern one... I read articles online and found it very simple to do, as always, turning the circuit breaker off as FIRST THING. But my question is the following: The breaker feeds 2 rooms, in one of them only the outlets, and on the other one (mine), outlets AND the switch, I have no idea what gauge is it either 12 or 14, the breaker is 20 AMP. The Light Switch says "only use #14 wire, I tighetn both screws the light seems to work perfect, but...what if the wires are 12 gauges? what could happened, should I take the old switch back, or no big deal... THANK YOU!!!!

We have neutral carpet with black along the baseboards. Our realtor told us it is due to candle soot traveling through the heating/air system. Has anyone experienced this?

How do you fix the pull cord on a push lawn mower? Actually, it needs replaced. Is this a task that you can do yourself or does it need taken into be serviced by a lawn mower technician? The pull cord frayed cause I think I must have put the top protector part on it crocked. (I KNOW, wasn't a brilliant move). It caused a shrearing type of effect. Now the cord won't retract. Thanks, Kimmie~

I just moved to a new place, and the outlet for my dryer is for a 3 prong plug, but my dryer is equipped with a 4 prong cord. I assume it is easy to switch these out, but when I went to buy a new 3 prong cord, there are only 3 wires (non-color coded) to be placed on the posts. The 4 prong cord has 4 wires (one black, one red, one white, and the ground wire, I assume, which is green) Could anyone please let me know the proper way to wire this? I know this may sound a bit elementary, but I want to do it right, and not give myself a shock!! Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

We had a small roof fire after the roofer fixed a leak. He used a torch to melt the membrain roofing. Once the fire trucks arrived (4 trucks 10-20 firemen) it took 15-18 minutes for them to get water on the fire. I was using my hose to control and knock out all visible flames. But I was stopped by the police and had to watch the fire reignite and cause more damage.

I've removed average doorknobs before, but I can't figure out the doorknob on our current bedroom door. There are no screws to remove the trim or knobs themselves. I'll attach a picture if I can figure it out.

We had the rain storm last Sunday(4/15). When I checked the basement, it was very dry during the storm. My house has always been very dry so it doesn't have a sound-pump. Only until this morning(Tuesday) we noticed that it was flooded.
