Could be the drive belt. It also could be that the transmission gave up. Check to make sure the drive belt is still on the pulleys. If it is the transmission it may be time for a new mower unless you can find used parts.

It seems that the belt or something in the drive line has malfunctioned.
Check all belts under the tractor, maybe it jumped off of the pulley. Also check for lose or broken springs.
with the machine shut off grab and shake all pulleys.Any odd movement can show worn bearings that may need replaced.
When in doubt consult your local dealer.

Need to check if you still have a belt on the drive shaft. ALl you have to do is take teh cover off and look. ANd if it has the belt one of the pulleys has lost it's key. ALl you ahve to do is take the pulley off and go to a hardware store and get one to fit the groove. and away you will go. But if that isn't it then you gears are messed up in your transmission.

You have most likely stripped a gear in the rear end. I would suggest that you go to an antique tractor show and ask a person who collects these. They can show and tell you what you need to do.
