I am insulating my attic floor and can only fill in 6" the floor joist space. I am in a coastal southern climate so I am worried about keeping my A/C in and heat and humidity out. Also, can I put a vapor barrier (sheet plastic) over the whole floor as an added protection?

Potterton Suprima 50. CH not getting hot but HW is hot. Can manually switch on CH by holding down the lever of the diverter valve. This is OK but in summer would still want HW but not CH.

This is in my garage only... we have drywall up on the ceilings, but no mud and tape. Are there any drawbacks/safety issues with not completing this? Please only answer if you really know what you're talking about.

Ok ...I installed a new 4 ft Simkar fluorescent ceiling that uses 3 8 4 ft bulbs.I have bought a good brand which is
skybright daylight output lumens/light color. The effect is very
whitish and crisp but there is a slight problem. It seem to dim
at certain long periods of time during just after sunset or
at night.I know it is not my vision because these are not heap.It is bright and makes what is white look clean white
in the daytime and when evening starts to dawn in around
5 or 6'ish it seem to slightly dull off some and I am wondering
where all the brightness went? The old fixture used 2 40 watt fluorescent.I need to mention that I think
the wire coming from the ceiling was short in reaching one
side of lighting hook-up wire and I think it could be touching
the top frame plus I had very little electrical tape..I was going
to fix this been about 2 months.
Could the hot and neutral be crossed or is it wiring touching
frame or fixture itself? please help paid $150
thanx

I need to fix this, and what happened? Thank you so much

I have a "nested" sliding door between my Kitchen and Dining room. The people who lived here before me put in new linoleum flooring and it's built up so high that the door does not come out now. Does anyone know how I can get this door out so I can use it, without destroying the floor?

We got 7 inches of rain in New York. I have a finished downstairs with an attached garage. We have swept the water, shoveled it used a shop vac and poured the water in the garage sink. The water level has not receded. I also have water coming out of a hole in the garage floor (which I thought was for drainage). Any advice will be appreciated.

I moved into a house last June and had a brand new garbage disposal installed, never had issues with it. A couple of months later we bought a dishwasher from Best Buy and had them install it for us. After that the disposal sounded like there was something loose in there. We called a plumber and he said the disposal was shot because a valve was missing and I have a feeling Best Buy tinkered with it to install the dishwasher.

Long story short, we have to get a new disposal and a new valve, total bill $315. Is there a way to egt Best Buy to pay that, is that covered under warranty?

Thanks!
