Find a peice of old tarmac and try it,you could answer your own question, but you won`t get two points.

that is going to eat into the tarmac , wont smash yet wont do any strong :::!!!! positioned a gap on a splash tarmac and watch it bubble away::!! rigidity wash the paint off after sanding .(sounds stupid) the right floor and using some white spirit
