Potterton Suprima 50. CH not getting hot but HW is hot. Can manually switch on CH by holding down the lever of the diverter valve. This is OK but in summer would still want HW but not CH.

You need to check that the timer and/or roomstat are passing power to the motor in the motorised valve, if they are, then the motor is faulty and can be replaced (£10.00 -15.00 for a replacement). You do NOT need to replace the complete valve or drain down to fit a motor.

I have the same model, my CH engineer replaced the valve and said its a common fault, there is no way to override it because its stuck in the position to only feed the HW.

The heat distribution will even it self up when you replace the diverter Valve. if you have to open it manually, the motor is gone on it. They are about £30/ 40, and if you are okay with tools, you can fit a new one yourself. But buy one exactly the same as the one you are fitting and make sure the Arrow marked on the body is in the same direction as the one you are replacing.
