I have a large area of new decking and need to know whether to use Cuprinol spray stain preserver or the Ronseal type with a pad on a stick. It would take far too long with a brush though a brush might be the answer to the spindles on the balustrade around it.

I see that GE makes those reveal bulbs (I've also seen generic brands popping up as well).

Are these the best bulbs to make my white wallpaper look white (it has a yellow tinge with a regular bulb)?

If a ladder has an open length of say 5.2m how high up will it go? I understand it should sit 25 degrees from vertical, so there must be a formulae?

I am moving into an old house that had carpet. I removed the carpet to find hardwood with pet stains. Sections of the wood are very dark. I don't believe that most of these stains can be sanded out. If I have the rest of the hardwood sanded, how difficult would it be to replace the damaged boards. The hardwood is red oak. Also, would it match or look like it has been patched?

I've got a Tricity Bendix fan assisted oven and yesterday I noticed the panel at the back had perished. I removed it as it looked dangerous. The thing is the fan is now uncovered. My question is can I still use the cooker without the panel at the back? It looks like it's just a safety guard - anyone had this problem? Cheers, mateys.

A room gets tremendously hot in the summers. It has a shingled roof and is facing the East. Other rooms with cemented roofs in the house aren't as unbearable as this one. Is there any way to heat proof it? Getting an air conditioner is not an option in this room... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We have a small bathroom with just the tub and toilet. There is no window and the vent fan doesn't help much. I don't want to use a lot of chemicals because of the poor ventilation. We've tried keeping the light on, because I know it grows faster in the dark. We put some plants in there on top of the towel cabinet to absorb some humidity, and the mold started growing on them (yuk!). It's on my shower curtain, my walls, my tub, my floor, my ceiling, my toilet, it's everywhere and it's gross! I don't even want to touch anything!

I think that there is a sock or something clogging my sink drain. All chemical drain clearing products have not worked. Does anyone know how much it costs to have a plumber come to your house and fix this problem?? Better yet, does anyone know how to fix this problem??

He was using our riding mower, and he's not that bright, and somehow didn't notice. The WHOLE black plastic garbage bag wrapped around the thing that holds the blade on, and while I was able to get about 14 inches out and cut away, the rest is stuck in a crevice that runs all the way around the pole (I'm not too lawnmower literate) that holds the blade on, and seems to have actually been sucked down into crevice. Does anybody have any idea on what I could do to get it out? I'm not too mechanical, so I don't have a whole lot of options that involve anything too sophisticated mechanically.

Thank you.

the black bracket where you place the toilet bolts to set the toilet is not holding the bolts. is there a way to fix that? the bracket is cemented into the floor so i dont think that i can just pull it off and replace with a new one. another issue is that the floor has ceramic tile so i need to be careful what i do to remove it.

i had a person suggest that i drill into the concrete where the bolts would go and then put a led plug into it and then put a bolt in. would that work or does anyone have a better suggestion?
