the black bracket where you place the toilet bolts to set the toilet is not holding the bolts. is there a way to fix that? the bracket is cemented into the floor so i dont think that i can just pull it off and replace with a new one. another issue is that the floor has ceramic tile so i need to be careful what i do to remove it.

i had a person suggest that i drill into the concrete where the bolts would go and then put a led plug into it and then put a bolt in. would that work or does anyone have a better suggestion?

You may be able to use a Super Flange repair flange. They are available at Home Centers. I added a link for them so you could see what I am referring to.

I remember watching this exact repair on an episode of Ask This Old House. It's a DIY show on PBS. Anyway, they have a web site with the instructions and even a video clip showing how to deal with this repair. It even hits different repair methods including the lead plug method.

You can buy a "repair flange" from your local hardware store. They're fairly cheap and very easy to install. Directions are on the package.
