I've got a Tricity Bendix fan assisted oven and yesterday I noticed the panel at the back had perished. I removed it as it looked dangerous. The thing is the fan is now uncovered. My question is can I still use the cooker without the panel at the back? It looks like it's just a safety guard - anyone had this problem? Cheers, mateys.

If you remove the complete rear panel the fan will not circulate air properly, and the element will overheat and burn out. If you mean the wire/mesh grill about 7" diameter has 'rotted' it will have little effect on operation as long as it doen't make contact with anything, but would be better to be replaced ASAP.

HI there,
I have a fan assisted oven. Mmmmm sounds a bit iffy to me, i would either put a panel there or get a new panel. If dust or dirt goes in there it won't work properly. You can ring Sofa Project, they are on the 192 site . they have engineers and electricians, i would give them a quick call and ask their advice ! They are also reaasonably priced ! Hope that helps.
