Has anyone used this or own a home that was built with this? What did it cost? What do you think of it?

My unit is a split unti that's pretty old but the freon is freshly charged and the AC repairman has looked at it several times. Even when it's off, it seems to blow hot air. The thermostat is digital and is about 8 months old. This just started happening about a week ago though we've had numerous problems with the AC. Any help would be appreciated and please don't respond with "Buy a new AC".

My bed continues to squeak. I've already replaced the mattresses. I don't know if it's the frame or what but every movement there is noise and it's driving me crazy.

My house has direct wire (120v ac) smoke detectors. One of them will emit a beep every so often. Does a backup battery need to be replaced? Is one of the wire connections loose?

I wish to wire an outdoor waterproof mains socket by tapping into an existing interior socket on the back wall of my house. I'm quite confident I can do it properly and it will be fused correctly etc. but would this now be in breach of regulations if not carried out by a registered electrician? I'm concerned about the new home information pack etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Our gas furnace was tagged yesterday due to a valve leak near the pilot light. It's over 40 years old and we've been advised it's too old to fix. My husband lost his job in October, and we're not exactly swimming in cash. Would you suggest getting another gas furnace? Any ideas that would warm our two-story home, 1500 sq.ft., and save money? Thanks.

i had my lawn mower in storage for about 5 months. it's an old mower that i got second hand, but it didn't give me a single problem last year. it always started right up with 1 or 2 pulls. i had it stored with gas in it, and someone told me i would see little bubbles in the tank if there was water in it, which i don't see. the oil is good, tried replacing the spark plug, air filter is good. it doesn't sound like it's even trying to start, but seems to sound slightly better when i take the spark plug out. is my mower just dead?

We keep running out of hot water... even this morning... I ran out after only being in the shower about 15 minutes, and I was the first in the family to shower... shouldn't it last longer than that?

So... how long should the hot water last? Please provide a source for your answer.

Thanks!

I noticed that the freezer part of my fridge is fine, the fridge part seems to take forever to get cold. I have the temperature all the way to 9 and only then is it seems okay. (still not really cold) (according to the fridge stick magnet its at barelly normal operating temp) I also noticed that I hear bubbling noises in the back of the fridge now and then. Please let me know what I should check first.

There doesn't seem to be any kind of tension adjuster or am I wrong about this. It's fricking annoying because you open the door and it starts to slide shut right away. Anyone know how to adjust this door so it will stop doing this?

Mine has been basically a piece of junk (to put it mildly). This is one of the most successful and most misleading ad campaigns on record, for my money. What do others think?

I have a Hotpoint model HDA2000 dishwasher. I rarely use it--the last time was probably around Christmas. I usually just "wash & go" my dishes by hand.

Last evening I loaded the thing, added detergent, and set it to "Heavy Wash". All the thing does is hum for a minute or two, and then it stopped doing anything. Then, every few minutes, it will hum some more, then stop. I peeked inside, and it's very apparent that nothing has taken place yet, except that there is now some water in the bottom of the washer basin.

After a while, I gave up and unlatched the door, to turn the machine off. Then I went to bed.

Yes, I read the instruction manual; nothing is blocking the washing arm at the bottom. It would appear that I am doing everything correctly. So what am I missing? Why won't the thing start running? I should mention that in the past, it has worked just fine.

I am fixing some concrete steps, and I will be taking some ciment off and I will need roughly 1/4 cubic meter of concrete for the repair. I will be pouring over existing ciment, so what kind of mix do you suggest?
