I noticed that the freezer part of my fridge is fine, the fridge part seems to take forever to get cold. I have the temperature all the way to 9 and only then is it seems okay. (still not really cold) (according to the fridge stick magnet its at barelly normal operating temp) I also noticed that I hear bubbling noises in the back of the fridge now and then. Please let me know what I should check first.

There is no frost anywhere that I can see. I hear things running fine. The freezer fan is fine. Is there a way to find out if there is something blocking the cold air that goes to the fridge?

if the evaporator fan is running as you say, and depending on the temp in the fridge section, which should be about 34 degrees F, it may be that the timer could be stuck in cooling, which would never allow the frost on the evaporator to melt, thus not being able to cool the other section, it could even be the damper control itself, which is in most GEs controled by the thermostat bulb, other then that with the "bubbling" sound your hearing it could be a clog in the filter drier, or capilary line. or even just a leak in the system. best bet is to hire a technician to properly test it, and diagnoise the problem.

Most refrigerators have a fan in the freezer that blows cold air into the fig. I've had this fan go out and as a result the freezer works greater but the fig gets warmer. I suggest you do the following.
1 See if very cold air is blowing the the fig. If not make sure the intake in the freezer is not block. Next make sure the evaporator fan inside the box is working.
2 Make sure the evaporator is not a solid block of ice. This will cause the problem since the blown air can't get Through the ice. (If this is the case, defrost the freezer and check the defrost timer, heater and the defrost terminator switch.
Hope this helps

It sounds to me like there are a few things it could be. First, make sure the evaporator fan motor is running. (the fan inside the freezer). If the fan is not working, then that is your problem. It could also be in your automatic defrost cycle. Do you have a lot of frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer? If you have a lot of frost build up, one of three things is not working in your defrost. It could be the defrost timer, the defrost heaters, or the defrost terminator.
Any and all of the fixes is fairly in-expensive, but you will need the help of a service tech to find the problem. Hope all goes well for you.

maximum GE refrigerators has a door or flap that opens between the refrigerator section and the freezer. The greater the door opens, the chillier the refrigerator section is. because of the fact the freezer is working nicely, then the difficulty is this flap. If this is a 2 door refrigerator (no longer facet by facet) then eliminate the plastic conceal the place the chilly administration knob is and verify. would have an ice advance. yet however the difficulty is, you will desire to have the capacity to pinpoint it particularly straightforward. in case you will desire to, you could eliminate the backside of the freezer and verify that way. solid luck.
