Mine has been basically a piece of junk (to put it mildly). This is one of the most successful and most misleading ad campaigns on record, for my money. What do others think?

I can't speak for everyone, but I've been repairing vac's for over thirty years, and I've always wondered how a vac with motor the size of the motors in most power nozzles could possibly make any decent vacuum and still turn a brush being dragged accross carpet fibres. I have a few customers who use this machine and most aren't thrilled with it, especially at the cost of the bags and the parts when they need repairs.

Wow, that is odd. I've had mine for 10 years and it's great!! So is the free canister and car vac. I can't imagine what might be wrong, but you should definitely contact Oreck. They will send you another one or return your money. The Oreck does have a warranty on it. I'm so sorry that you have gotten the bad lemon out of a bunch of wonderful vacuum's. Hope this will help you

I've never had an Oreck.

But my mother has, and the thing she doesn't like about that is that it's nearly impossible to get bags for without paying an arm and a leg, and having to order by phone. She ended up getting rid of it and buying a Bissel.
