I'm struggling to understand why my heating system comes on and goes off whenever it feel like ! eg. timer is set for 6.30am and it comes on at 6.00am ? What's going on ? My house is cold when I want it warm and vice versa - I know I can switch to manual override but then I have to remember to switch it back to Auto before I go to bed ..which isn't ideal....Any help greatly appreciated...Cheers !

It sounds like the T-stat has an energy-recovery mode. What that means to you is that it will begin to slowly bring the temp toward desired setpoint a considerable time before your program time, to have the temp acheived AT the programmed time. It's probably normal operation.

If your thermostat is set to a temperature at 6:30 then it needs to heat up from 6:00 to 6:30 to acheive that temperature. The timer is not indicating when it comes on - it indicates a specific temperature to be at that time.

IF you are sure your times are set properly I would assume you need a new thermostat
