I looked into this years ago, could not find a window unit but
Danby makes a portable unit ( you can move from room to room
because it has wheels) and it has proven to be an excellent
purchase, although pricey.....Their warranty is only for one year
but you can purchase additional coverage at minimal cost.
Go on-line to Danby products.com and get an idea of the items
available....

EDIT: It plugs into a regular indoor outlet....

Yes there is and there is two kinds of them....One is just like home heat pump and is very efficient for a window unit....the other has electric heat in it and will cost more to use for heat...you usually would have to special order these as most places dont keep them in stock....

they do make one, its supplied by carrier airconditioning products, check out the website, the thing goes for a couple 100 bucks and it works for awhile.

yep, they are called heat pumps... window or wall heat pumps, I do believe you will need a 220 outlet for it

there sure is. and it uses 110V. I,m not sure of the brand but you can find them at Lowe,s stores . they sell for about $450.00.
