I have some equiment that requires 3 phase 220 voltage. The equipment had been running on 3 20amp(I think) breakers at work. I have a 2 phase 220 outlet mounted directly beneath the control panel. It is connected to 2 70amp breakers. Is this something that could easily be rewired to work for 3 phase? I know the obvious, turn off the power before doing anything.

The existing thermostat has 7 wires, I didn't check it before purchasing the new one. The instructions inside the honeywell thermostat says anything more than 6 and I need to call their tech support, well, after 25 minutes on hold, I thought I would try here first. Any thoughts?

i've got a used paperback that i bought used from the campus bookstore. i've got no problem with buying used books, but i HATE those giant stickers they always put on the back cover, so i always peel them off. the problem is that it leaves sticky residue from the gigantic price sticker they always put on the used books. ive tried everything from wiping it down with a damp cloth, rubbing it on the carpet (it gets weird hair stuck in the glue) to using alcohol prep pads (just made it stickier). any ideas, short of dumping it straight into the water, on how to get the sticky stuff off of the back of my book? i've got a lot of sticky books that i want unstickified

My pipes were frozen for the last week--I was able to thaw them today. The lines to the machine are free and clear, and the spin cycle runs so I know the machine has power. But absolutely no water is coming in to the machine.

The bathroom upstairs is of a concern and I don't know how to check if the commode, the sink, or the shower pipes have a slow leak.

The reason is bc there's a patch (fresh paint) on the wall as if part of the roof from downstairs (right below the bathroom upstairs) was repaired recently.

We know we can get an inspector but I'd like to do a basic test on it before.

I ran out of K-1 last night and had 100 gallons delivered today. Now the heater isn't running right. I've been on the phone off and on all day with my oil company's service department and they have walked me thru several steps but nothing seems to work. I DO NOT have an owner's manual for the heater. After it heats up to the set temperature it shuts itself off. It is not set on auto or economy. I have pushed and held down the red button on the side. I do not know what, if anything, needs to be done with the reset temperature guage on the side. I have turned it on and off and also unplugged it, waited, then plugged it back in. The burner does ignite as I do see it glowing when looking into the front. The valve is open inside and also outside on the tank. It makes a ticking or tapping noise when it is heating up. Please can someone help me with this, we are freezing up here in the Northeast!

My LL says it's my responsibility as part of normal maintenance. The contract says "the tenant will properly use, operate & safeguard the Premises (I do)... keep them clean... The tenant shall be charged for all repairs caused by tenants, etc., excluding ordinary wear and tear." This home is only a few year old so it seems a little too new to have a problem but I haven't done anything to cause the leak. Help!

I'd like to know how much certain things like computers, flat screens, refrigerators, etc. are costing me to run. Is there a meter that can help me figure this out? I know how much I pay per kilowatt hour. I'd like to measure my fridge for example versus a more efficient one and figure out if it pays to replace it. Thanks!

They won't send anyone to look at it and they say they won't take it back. I have been with out a fridge for over two weeks and the manager on the phone today actually threatend me with another 7 to 9 working days. No, I did not purchase the extended warrenty and thats why I think they are being so nasty. We bought a washing machine, dryer, and refidgerator all at the same time. Two of the three quit working in the first month. Neither one has been fixed.
