It is most probably caused because the defrost time is stuck in defrost postion. That timer allows allows the freezer section to still make ice, but doesnt allow freezing in the frozen food section
Pull the refridgerator back from the wall. On the lower left side right near the floor you will see a panel made of sheet steel. Take the handle of a screwdriver and give that area a few good pounding raps with that handle. That might jar the timer a bit and it will then get off of the defrost positon. Leave the thing plugged in while you do that.

I would check the coils in the back of the fridge or located under in front for a block coil depends on what model you have.look on the air entering side of coil.Does the fresh food side stay cool? And buy a therometer and put in the freezer side and adjust temp as needed. If they are set too low in the freezer compartment it will cause coil on the inside(evap)coil to freeze up and not allow air to pass across the coil.If those don't work call a repirman to fix it for you.Good Luck

2 things to do first. Clean the coils. They are either on the back of the fridge or under it. Vacume them thourouly. 2nd thing to do is de-frost the fridge & freezer. If that dont work then consider either repair or replacement.
Good luck to you.

your freezer should have a temperature thermostat, usually they are turned to the "3" position, try turning it down to position "2".
it will be located differently depending on what refridgerator you have, but it is usually located in the refridgerator portion at the top.

I would get a repair person they are specialised people for that kind of work or ask them if there is anything you could do to try fix it.
