I live on the 11th floor of a building in Chicago. It was built in the 30's, I think, which is evident in the shower. Hardly a trickle of water. How can I improve this situation?

Do you have OK pressure everywhere else?
Take the shower head off and see if there is a flow limiter inside the end of the head. These come out relatively easy. It might take a drill or may take a screwdriver.

Good luck

Fit a simple water pump on the supply pipe,it will then give you ample water pressure. This is not a big deal but you may need aPlumber.i can only guess at the cost say $150
