The metal puller has snapped and so, though the zip itself still functions it's very difficult to open and close as all is left is the body of the puller so you can't get much purchase. I have checked in the phone book for leather jacket repairs but they all seem to specialise in mending tears in the material. The jacket is perfect in every other way and happens to be a favourite - and not very old!

I've poured pounds of food particles down my kitchen sink, and I don't even have a in-sink grinder, and the sink never clogs. But one well-timed dump can clog the toilet like that. Why is that?

My brother in law and I broke the bulbs in our garage in a covered trash can months ago and now the cover is off. My wife is having a fit because the crystal florescents in the bulbs are being exposed and maybe contaminating our garage. I say I don't think its possible but I don't know for sure.

Our rental house was experiencing a clog so our landlord called the plumbers. They snaked out to the main sewer line in the yard and found a fabricy/dryer sheet like substance. Problem is we never use dryer sheets or flush fabric (no kids either). Now the landlord is blaming us for the clog- is there any other way this could have gotten into our line besides from us? We recently had very heavy rains in the area (causing something on the order of 100-year flooding).

I put a frozen dinner in the microwave and it made a strange beeping sound. Then I smelled smoke and I'm wondering if it was an electrical problem and if I should be worried about it starting a fire. This was yesterday and I haven't used it since.

I have an out-swing, exterior french door that I use daily.

It was installed professionally in the summer. With a few tweaks, it was shutting perfectly, everything was in alignment. With the recent wet weather, it has expanded just a bit and is now sticking when I try to shut it. I now have to slam it to shut it all the way. Should I sand or shave it down, or just wait until spring when it dries out, or will it dry out????

I accidentally left my DeWalt cordless circular saw out in the rain for two days... URGGGGGG. The battery pack was in at the time. Also my corded B&D jigsaw. Did I kill them? When I discovered them outside, I brought them in and shook them out and won't turn them on for a good while to let them dry out. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hot water comes out of all other taps including bath tap and cold water ok. Bathroom is on first floor of house. I've tried running all hot taps to see if that will make water run out of sink tap but no joy!

Any suggestions of anything else I can try before I call out a plumber would be appreciated.

The Roomba vacs look really cute but I am not sure if I should get one. I would like to buy something that is small for the kids to use in thier room. Also I wanted to find out more about how long it takes to program (set the sensors) and the level of noise it puts out. And is it true that once it's done it can go back to it's base? What about cost?
