A repair to your floor is quite possable. If you are lucky it will be a click system. Remove the quarter roundes or base boards in the nearest Conner. Simply unlock until you get to the damaged area and replace. With a little more luck it wont be near a door way because at times the installer must remove the click and glue them together in this case be gentle and remove just the raised area on tong and or grove and glue the piece into place.
If it is a glue system you must break out the damaged piece, mill a new grove insert a loose tong, all with out any other damage. Not an easy task, call a pro.

I put 950 square feet of laminate flooring g in my home 2 years ago. When I did the installer told me to buy a couple of extra boxes because just like everything else that is man made, different dye lots come out differently. I am glad he did because I too damaged my floor in the kitchen and because we had the extra, I didn't have a problem with matching the color.
Repairing the floor will not be that hard as long as you can match the color.

You only have to replace the panel but you will have to match it with the colour you are using.

find another panel with the same pattern on it, place it on top of the floor with the "hole", cut both pieces at once, remove both. put patch in "hole"==== perfect fit!

if its in the middle, you will have to take it all up. if its near the side then you should be able to do the job easily..as long as you didnt seal it with glue.

As long as you just clipped it together you should get away with just one piece.
Good Luck.
