The metal puller has snapped and so, though the zip itself still functions it's very difficult to open and close as all is left is the body of the puller so you can't get much purchase. I have checked in the phone book for leather jacket repairs but they all seem to specialise in mending tears in the material. The jacket is perfect in every other way and happens to be a favourite - and not very old!

Take the jacket to a dry cleaner or tailor who has a good reputation with leather. They can replace the whole zipper. If its a favorite jacket - it's well worth it. I've had my leather jacket since 1989 and I've had the lining and the zipper each replaced 2 times.......

I agree with the shoe or saddle repair shop. Any place that works with leather should be able to help you.
