I installed new double glazing units 5 months ago. A huge crack has developed from one end to the other of a unit for no apparent reason. There has been no impact to the window and it only affects the inside glass. Could it be because the pane of glass was too big and left no expansion space and has cracked now that the central heating is on full blast??

It's more a dirty laundry water smell. And it's coming from the laundry area. What could be happening? There is no water spilled or clogging anywhere. It could be the septic tank being full, but then I think it would smell more like sewer. It's just the smell you get if you forget your washing and leave it in there for three days. Only stronger. What should I look for? I'm worried that there might be a broken pipe under the floor or something. If that were true, who would I call? I'm getting crazy about it. Help!

i havent even been in the flat that long.
i dont think i should have to pay it.
what should i do?

I was using it and smoke started to come out of it- i could see it. I saw a little spark of fire and pulled the plug. Should I throw it away and buy a new one- or was it just wet and should I try it tommarow?

It blows fine in the bathroom, but the bedrooms are freezing.
I've even closed off vents in the basement (very warm down there!!?????) and the main floor, it doesn't help.
What could be the problem?

I replaced the refill tubing that leads to the overflow pipe and then I replaced the flapper(stopper). I did the dye test, tinting the water in the tank but it doesn't leak into the bowl. The tank keeps filling till it reaches over the top of the overflow pipe and then the water starts going into the bowl. This is a floatless ballcock toilet, made in 1985. There is no float ball or adjustable box. I have tried turning the knob on the valve at the bottom of the tank and that has no effect on the water level in the tank. I am at my wit's end. The only way it stops running is to turn off the water valve at the floor. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this without taking the tank off?

I have a plugged toilet. It is clea now that the block is in the drain pipe somewhere. Could you give me any info on how the drain system is set up.

Someone has said that they snaked every vent in the house, what does that mean. What is the main drain pipe of the house, they say it is outside the house.

I am going to rent an electrical drain snake from home depo and try to snake the drain right under the toilet that is plugged, and that is the only toilet that is plugged.

Do I need to do anything else.

Rather curiously, it's only from one sink in my house; the other drains are fine.

No amount of drain cleaner and boiling water have done anything...

Culligan installed our water softner incorrectly last week and rust was flying out of all of our water spiggots. now our house was built in 1957 and the pipes are very old, galvanized steel. But, when culligan came back last night to reinstall the softner for us corrrectly, the rust that we thought that was spewing was resin, NOT rust. My husband and I fear that our water may be toxic now. Anyone know if this is possible or the case? We have a daughter and we aren't comfortable with the situation. We may be hotel bound. Are we over reacting? HELP!
