Culligan installed our water softner incorrectly last week and rust was flying out of all of our water spiggots. now our house was built in 1957 and the pipes are very old, galvanized steel. But, when culligan came back last night to reinstall the softner for us corrrectly, the rust that we thought that was spewing was resin, NOT rust. My husband and I fear that our water may be toxic now. Anyone know if this is possible or the case? We have a daughter and we aren't comfortable with the situation. We may be hotel bound. Are we over reacting? HELP!

No.. I do not believe you are over reacting but I just cannot imagine that there would be that much rosin, etc as very little would be used

You are totally over reacting. If you are that concerned, flush your pipes. Let the water run for a bit and call it a day.

You can have the water sent off to have it checked but this of course takes time. You an ask this question to the installer and hope he will tell you the truth.
