My bed squeaks too much, and it annoys my housemates. I guess the boxspring is is the problem ?

I had the same problem. We took everything off the frame and made sure that the slats are in place and that there are enough. Then we turned the box springs 180 degrees and then flipped and rotated the mattress. It really helped. Try it. It may work for you as well. Good luck.

PUT A BIT MORE MONEY INTO A BETTER MATTRESS AND BOXSPRING OR PUT MATTRESS ON FLOOR (MAY CUT MOST OF THE NOISE OUT)

stop moving around so much on the bed. do it at your girlfriend's house until you can pick up a new mattress. good luck!!

WD-40, baby!!.
Or do that in the shower, one of the two. But I would suggest WD-40.
