I was using it and smoke started to come out of it- i could see it. I saw a little spark of fire and pulled the plug. Should I throw it away and buy a new one- or was it just wet and should I try it tommarow?

Throw it away, it's not worth the risk.

I'd buy a new one, they're not that expensive. It's not worth the risk of using it again. Next time you could catch the bathroom or your hair on fire. By the way, why would it be wet in the first place? You should NEVER use anything electrical around water. If you are, you're asking for big trouble.

time to throw it away, drying it out will not help, once the parts inside have begun to smoke its cheaper and more cost effective just to toss it and start over.

Mine does that sometimes and here is what I do. UNPLUG IT. Look at the filter that covers the air intake. is it clogged with lint and hair? If so, clean it with an old toothbrush so that air can pass through. without good airflow the dryer overheats.
