It could be that your water heater is not large enough or you might just have faulty plumbing. There is a pipe that comes of each water line that goes straight up and is capped of to help the water pressure it could be that these pipes are not long enough there fore causing less water pressure. Best bet is to call a plumber they would be able to diagnoss the problem best.

The higher up in the house , the harder for the water to flow.
When you run a bath you have to allow time for the tank to top-up.
Water pressure varies from place to place.
Some people can run a shower straight from the hot and cold.
Some need a pump installed to do it.

Have you tried turning the tap which is either under your sink or in the airing cupboard? That might improve it. However, if you had British Gas to fit a central heating system in the last few years, I'd get them back out to it. We had a problem similar to that after they'd put heating in for us.

it's probably because your water heat/boiler/immersion tank is downstairs. If it was upstairs in the roof then the water obviously just has to go downstairs, if it is downstairs and you are running a bath then the water has to defy gravity to go upstairs and subsequently loses pressure. Well, that's the way it is in my house.

Check that your storage tank in the loft is full and is staying that way when you run the bath tap, sounds like its coming out quicker than it's filling?!
