try the local council, dont get ripped off by the big firms, if you get a contractor in dont look to be paying more than £50.00-£65.00 look for holes in extirior brick work around kitchen waste pipes if you can get a bic ball point through a gap a mouse can fit through there try b&q get some mouse bait and try to get it in where the problem lies, good luck

Sounds like you may have little critters but if they are mice, rats, chipmunks, etc. is hard to tell. One thing you can try, put a mouse trap and a rat trap in the attic where you hear the noise and wait a few days (you should check the traps every day) and see if you catch something. The best lure to bait the traps is peanut butter. I haven't seen any difference between smooth or chunky peanut butter. If you do have an infestation, call a professional, mice and rats are hard to get rid of.

You can buy rat poison in pellets (cost a couple of pound from DIY/hardware shops).
Just put these under the floorboards in a little pile, and check a few days later to see if they have been eaten. The rats/mice will ingest these and die within hours. I had mice under my kitchen sink and and quickly removed them using the pellets.

Yes, last week I caught 4 mice, using mouse traps with peanut butter on them. This week I haven't caught any which make me to believe that they are all gone.

you can buy a special sonic rodent deterant that plugs into the ordinary plug socket the noise scares them all off ive tried it and it works not expensive and lasts forever
