I had the same problem. It drove me nuts. My husband would turn over or get up to go to the restroom and it would wake me. We took everything off and checked the slats. Make sure their all in right and that you have enough. Then Turn your Box Springs around. Facing the other way. Then flip and turn your mattress. All this should help. Good luck. It really helped us. I sleep now.

Somewhere, there is wood rubbing against wood. Are your connectors the kind with two little sock shaped things on the end of the bed rails that fit into two slots in the head and foot boards? They may not be seating all the way in because they're either misaligned or are mortised in too deep. They're meant to kind of wedge in to the slots so they get progressively tighter and don't wriggle and squeak. They have screws that could be loose, too. Try a longer or thicker wood screw and if the plates are too deep to allow a snug fit, shim them out a little with a piece of cardboard like you'd find on the back of note pad. Not sure what your mattress is sitting on, but if it's a box spring or platform that rests on cleats around the rails, and head & foot boards, then the cleats could be loose and causing the squeak. Tighten the screws that are holding them to the sides and if they still make noise, add some glue to them and retighten. I'm not sure how your bed can have no metal, though if the rails really do just slide in to the headboard, then maybe you need to tap wooden shims into the joints from the inside to wedge them tighter. If tightening doesn't work, or work well enough, try waxing the connections so they stop squeaking, but that will only treat the symptom, not the disease. Something is loose and you have to tighten it. You can always screw some heavy "L" brackets around the frame on the inside and see if that stiffens the whole thing up. If the bed is old, the joints may have shrunk to the point where they're no longer tight and that may be what's causing the whole problem. Try some wedges because that will only cost a buck or two and while you're at the home center, buy a couple of packages of decent sized corner brackets to try to add some structure to the thing. Hope that helps, I may have missed the mark entirely, but I tried to cover all the possibilities I could think of.

Is it the mattress or the box spring? Mattress... you are out of luck, but most mattresses these days have individual coils, and should not squeak. The box spring... you can turn it over and cut into the material on the bottom to reach the squeak, if it's metal rubbing then use a light oil, if it's wood squeaking, try to tighten the way it is fastened, or you may get lucky using oil also.

Try to find out where the squeaking is coming from. Have someone lay on the bed and crawl under to listen. Insulate metal on metal contact with some foam tape. Tighten all bolts.

Try replacing the base. If thats where the squeaking is coming from. If its the mattress, I suggest you buy a new one.
