I have a boiler for my central heating and hot water. Each radiator has its own thermostat. When the radiator thermostats are at 0 the water gets quite warm, but soon as I turn the rads on the water only gets luke warm. Any ideas why and how I can resolve this without have cold winters or cold baths!

Check your boiler operation, either it is not ramping up it's output to match the demand, or it is to old to keep up with your demand. Also, try to time your shower for sometime after your house has been warmed up a while, not when you crank on the radiators.

If it is a closed loop system meaning the water to the radiator returns to the boiler check the circulating pump and make sure it is working.

Sound as if your boiler is not making enough hot water. When the radiators start to use it, the water is not getting replenished fast enough. This is a job for a pro to determine the cause.
