the Home AC was working fine yesterday, but noticed at noon today it wasn't, thats when I found the A-coil froze over. I shut it off, and let it thaw out, then turned it back on. the outside unit comes on, and you can here the compresser kick in, but only the bottom of the A-coil seems to get as cold as it should

I need to replace a washer on the shut-off valve inside my property as it is leaking. In order to do this I need to cut off the supply from the mains outside. The shape of the valve I need to turn outside is about 1 inch square, hence I need to know the name of the tool I should use to perform this operation - and if possible where would I get one from.

At our house we have a number of telephones. The other day after it rained we started having problems with our phones. In the background there is a humming sound that makes it difficult to hear. I was wondering if anyone could explain what kinds of things would cause a humming sound. It is there with every phone that we use, no matter were it is plugged in. Thanks you for your help.

I need help unclogging a toilet. I have tried plunging it, but that is not working. I really don't have the money to call a plumber. Is there any thing else I can do to try to unclog it myself?

We are building at the moment and have a variety of people working in the house (doing windows , putting up fencing, installing bathroom...). Some of them do a brilliant job and are really conscientious (as we mainly went by personal recommendation before getting a quote). Do you normally give a tip and how much?

But one of them has made a real mess of his work; with which we weren't at all happy. He claimed is craftmanship is very good but in the end it turned out that he didn't really have a clue and caused us a lot of hassle with his incoherence. (Our windows are hardwood and we asked if he could do double glazing. He said yes although he only has experience with UPVC. He injured himself twice due to lack of protective clothing and spilt blood all over the place. He walked onto the window sill which now needs complete stripping and painting again. On asking he said well it needed doing anyway...) How much discount do you normally ask for if you experience so much hassle?

I have a set of bunk beds that are stacked on top of each other by placing a plastic part between each of the four bedposts. I have one of the connectors, but need 3 more. The manufacturer no longer makes the part, so I have to figure out a way to get this plastic connector replicated. Either that or figure out a way to use something else to hold the beds together. Please help!

sometimes my dishwasher leaves some sort of grit on my dishes.
Before I start it I let the water run until it's hot so the detergent will dissolve. I don't think anything is clogged, I rinse everything before loading because I don't run it every day and I don't want it to smell.
Thanks for any help,

I have the needle and water pressure dials tools needed, just don't know how to perform this task. Are there valves that need to be off,on? I have CommandAire system that is 15 years old. Hoses have collapsed but the water mixture still gets through, just slower. My installer charges $65 for a housecall. I want to avoid paying $65 each time the system gets a little air in it, causing hoses to collapse.

I have replaced the rubber washer in the valve and when I pull up on the float arm everything seems to stop then shortly thereafter air bubbles start coming out of the bottom of the fill tube. How could air be getting thru the valve without water which would cause the shutoff valve to tighten?
