Every time I put in new caulking or grout and give it the suggested time to dry it still begins washing off with the first shower. Is there anything else I can use or a specific brand that will cure even if the surface is still wet? I think water is leaking a little from behind the wall, but don't have the funds to have it torn out and fixed at this time.

When I comb or brush my long hair in the morning, a normal amount comes off on the comb or brush. I usually pull it off and flick it into the toilet instead of the trash can. Is this bad for the plumbing?

I rent an old trailer. I'm getting ready for my 2nd winter in it, so know what to expect and one thing I'm going to do is put plastic on the windows. I was told by some to put it on the inside, others told me to put it on the outside. So which is it?

When the temperature drops to freezing, our refrigerator (and freezer) in our garage stops working. I know there are blankets for water heaters--I was wondering if there was a similar wrap for a fridge so we could use the fridge through the cold months.

I want an entry lock that allows you to lock the door before leaving, and it stays locked after you reenter with the key. In other words, it stays locked at all times until you turn the dial on the inside.

Similar to what they have in hotels - easy to lock yourself out - but idiot proof in terms of making sure you always lock the door.

I have one that is made by Schlage, but according to the people at Loews, this type is no longer produced (too many complaints form people locking themselves out evidently) I assume there is one on ebay or somewhere out there, but I don't even know what it's called.

I just moved into a new apartment and all of my walls are drywall. I got this huge, beautiful, antique mirror out of my mom's house, and it probably weighs about 30 pounds. Do you think it's okay to hang it on drywall? The wire that you hang it on seems pretty sturdy. I went ahead and hung it here, but my dad's concerned that it's gonna fall any minute. What do you think? Also, my mom had it hung at her house, but she had a different kind of wall. Thanks in advance, guys! This may not be an easy question to answer w/o seeing the mirror itself.

it seems very expensive here in Europe, the man wants to drill holes in my walls every 8 inches and inject poison. This is just to prevent termites, we don't have them already.

When I turn the hot tap in the kitchen on lately it thumps loudly and shakes until the water flow stabilizes. What could be causing this and how do I go about fixing it?

I purchased my home seven years ago. In a remote part of my houseI have an unused spare bathroom with a full tub. The tub's never been used (or shower). I clean it with a cleaner I bring into the bathroom so it isn't dirty! My question is, by not using it this long, if I turn it on now could it cause a leak. Is it wise to call a plumber to turn it on in case there's an issue? I just wonder if pipes get rusty from unuse and as such, could that cause a rupture. That's why I'm wondering if I should have a plumber nearby just in case something bad happens?
