i live in a house that has a well for water supply. the water pressure is o.k. but i want to know how i can improve it?

not the kind of well the first guy was talking about. and i dont think the second answer is what im looking for either

First off, without knowing the size of your pipes, if you say that the pressure is OK now, you might be able to adjust the cut-in and cut-out pressures at the pump pressure switch. It's the small grey box on the side of the pump, or usually inserted into the piping just inside the basement wall if it's a submersible pump. If you want to try this, first shut off the breaker to the pump so there's no electricity at the pressure switch. All submersible and some of the older in house pumps run on 220 Volts, (enough to kill you instantly). Remove the plastic cover, by unscrewing the little hex nut on the top of the threaded post you should see a diagram on the inside of the cover that will explain which posts to adjust and which way to turn the screws for higher cut-in, cut-out pressure. Most pumps work on a 20psi cut-in, 40 psi cut-out program. It's possible to adjust this to 30 -50, 40-60, if your pipes are in good condition and will hold the pressure. Sometimes it only takes a few pounds of pressure increase to make a real difference in the way the flow feels.

ARE YOU ON A SAND POINT OR DRILLED WELL??? IF ON SAND POINT NOT MUCH YOU CAN DO.IF ON A DRILLED WELL THERE ARE A COUPLE OPTIONS.THE BEST IS TO UPGRADE TO A CONSTANT PRESSURE SYSTEM. IT GIVES YOU CITY WATER PRESSURE IN THE COUNTRY.SYSTEM INSTALLED/RETROFITTED INTO YOUR HOSE WOULD COST BETWWEN $1200-$2500 DOLLARS DEPENDING ON YOUR PUMPING DEPTH. THIS IS 95% OF WHAT WE INSTALL.EVERYONE LOVES IT. 1/2 OF OUR REPAIR WORK GETS CONVERTED TO THIS AS WELL.

well pumping into what? do you have a tank? if not get one and get a pump to keep the pressure whatever you want...

change your pipes from galvanized to copper
