My hot tub, in Arizona, costs and additional $35/month (electric) to have on and heated.

Depends on heating method, how well the tub is insulated, and how often it's used... I'd check the heater and pump and calculate out the power requirements...

My little brother cut the monthly costs of HIS Hot Tub (four seater, with electric heating) from $150 to $37 by installing an on-demand propane water-heater, and improving the insulation of the tub (cover, sides and piping).

His tubbie is high up in Calaveras County... wonderful to soak on a cold winter night.

Electric heat.
