I am a new grower and seems everything on the net is about growing monster pumpkins. I just want some basics for my little plot and need to be able to prune and don't want to cut the wrong vine.

I have a problem. I purchased a stone pot of gold for my yard, as I am into Landscaping. This pot is nestled in a lush garden of flowers and even some vegetables as I have recently discovered. But here is my dilemna. Shortly after adding this stone pot I recieved a visitor. He is a tiny man,he has red hair, and he barely comes to my knees in height. He is wearing all green and speaks in an Irish accent, Blarney this, Blarney that.
I can't get him to leave. I've tried the traditional methods, with the goat and the bathtub thing, but I couldnt get it to work.
I dont know what else to do, he stays up all night drinking and screaming about an imaginary soccer game.
Any advise would be appreciated, and thanks.

Are there any common vegetable discards that are not good to add to a compost pile? Are potato peelings ok for example? What about fruit?

They go up the stalks and destroy the flower and the entire plant. They're cute, but not when I've spent all summer trying to grow these flowers. Thanks!

I got a total of 5 tomatoes out of two plants. I'm not sure if the soil I used is right. I put rocks in the bottom of the pot for drainage. My space is limited(12x6 balcony), so I don't know what other tomato variety I can plant. I want to plant zucchini, but I know those get huge.Is there a dwarf variety? I dont use any pesticides, all organic.

I have held on to my easter lily since easter and it remained green up until a few weeks ago. There are now green bulbs poking out from the surface, just under the dirt. I live in southwest Arkansas and have found out that I should plant them in Oct. How should I store them until then?

I'm looking for clearance or lower priced sites. Not into E-Bay, and I've looked at Walmart, Kmart, Lowe's and Home Depot. I'm looking for both an outdoor dining set and a conversation area set.

Thanks in advance!

The original main trunk had branches that grew out a few feet, then stopped for a few years. The ends looked like they were frozen or "burned," and it stopped blooming a few years ago. We cut it down this year and let one of the side shoots grow up in its place – it doubled the original tree height in just one year.

Any suggestions for improving the growth and shape (pruning, etc.)?

This is for next season, but I was wondering in advance, what type of flowers can I plant which can last basically from May/June, till about Sept/Oct. in bloom. A type of flower which is great for a novice, just learning how to garden, would be best!

Thanks!
