I have a new veggie garden in the middle of a field where I have seen deer. Can I specifically feed them at one end of the field to keep them away from my garden? What would I feed them? Anyone done this successfully? Will deer eat a flower garden?

I have an empty flowerpot and I'm trying to decide what to plant. It lives on my kitchen windowsill. I tried growing mint, but there really wasn't enough light for that and the plant had a very hard time. Something I would use more often would be nice too. Suggestions?

I live in Zone 5, SE detroit...I put up two decorative kwanzan cherry trees to block the view of my neighbors, but they died in my nasty clay soil....So Im going to replace them....I bought forsythias, but when i take the cherries back, i can get 4 6 feet arbor vitae now that they are on sale....I think i like the arbor vitae better for a hedge, but they grow slowly , what should i do with the forsythias?

Is there a way to prevent them from getting at the rest of all the young sprouts of vegetation(flowers and vegs) without enclosing the gardens in mesh fencing?

But I'm afraid the seeds will come alive sometime in the future when I use the compost.
I want to compost cause I hate throwing out, to the town, all the green weed vegitation that's been sucking my soil of its nutrients.

Any drawbacks to composting the weeds?
Any worries I should consider?

Imagine 50 acres where you can do everything...

What would you do? You have about $10M, 275,000 US Gal of water per day, and you want a "garden" that grows faster but also be very pleasant!

What would you do?

If you want you can draw it and send me to my email... energy.engineer@yahoo.com!... and simply post: "I SENT YOU A DRAWING"

Tks to all...

I recently bought a house with overgrown Pampas Grass. It is so thick with previous years' growth that it is extremely difficult to cut. I have tried a machete and even a chainsaw with no luck. I would burn it, but it is right next to a electrical utility transformer. Anybody ever try anything else with success?

My sister is not allergic to poison Ivey. She really likes it as a matter of fact. So when neighborhood kids started pulling up her flowers, and just basically messing up her garden; she planted poison Ivey around the edge of her garden. Is this wrong to do? (I mean now all the neighborhood kids have poison Ivey)

THERE IS A 2 FOOT LONG SNAKE IN MY FRONT YARD.
It's been there for 3 weeks. It lives in a hole on my walkway--and it comes out during the day--but it goes back into the hole when we throw moth-balls at it. I'm in Florida and live across from a lake...HOW DO I KILL THIS THING?

Keep in mind I am female, and only my mom lives in the house--and we are both a little scared!

All Ideas are Appreciated!!!! THANK YOU!!
