What's causing this one tree to turn black?It started at the bottom and is now almost to the top limbs.I don't have a clue.

My lithodora ground cover is not doing well at all here in N Texas. We are in drought conditions and it was 105 degrees F just yesterday. Should I wait it out and hope when the weather gets cooler, they will thrive?

The bodies are red with gray triangular heads, an inverted gray triangular patch in the middle of it's back and gray rectangular patches on thier sides. On the rear is a black almost diamond shaped large black spot with two white dots. Can somebody tell me what they are?
