Hi, My garden has bald patches in some areas and i am looking to rectify this. How do i go about turning over a garden so that my garden has grass all over it. What machinery should i use. What compost/fertelizer should i use. any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Steven

I'm a lazy gardener so I would rake the soil a little in the bald spots...add a little organic compost....sprinkle some grass seed on the new soil...water daily...wait...voila!!

EASY!!

The other thing I learned by accident...my parents have a bent grass (golf course grass seed crop) farm and they get the bent grass straw bales after harvest to use in their garden.

The bent grass straw will actually grow if you leave it in place all winter and you have a beautiful lush lawn worthy of any fine golf course.
That's my lazy and free way to make a lawn. It really works!!

Honestly, the best thing to do is apply a granular fertilizer in the spring. I had this same problem and when I applied a just a plain, generic granular fertilizer last year, then seeded the lawn, I had green grass all summer and the dead spots did not reappear. I would do this in April, and you will be very pleased with the results!

Depends on your garden size.. you can use just a hoe, or if bigger use a tilter. They can in different sizes. Turn the ground over few times then flatten it down, the grass should come back. Mine comes back and but if your don't with a few months I would have the soil checked at the Agr. office in your county Good Luck Pem

First advertise that your garden is for sale. When you have a buyer, get him to sign the purchase contract, and then turn over the garden to him

Can you get a small tracter with a plow, that would turn it over, I don't think I really understand your question, I hope this helps.
