My furnace is a gas hot water system. Lately when it comes on I can hear some water running in the baseboards . It does it for maybe 2 minutes. Seems to be heating ok but wondered if this is normal?

I want to take a hanging lamp and connect it directly to the ceiling so that it works with the light switch. I want to know if I cut the plug off and hook it to the wires in the ceiling? Do I need a grounding wire? Will there be one in the cable?

My friend and his little boy were at my house one evening when the lights went out . We found out that I'm not ready for a blackout . We managed to put together an emergency light with a candle and an old jar . What do I need to get so I'll be ready the next time the lights go out ?

This has happened today, I turned the central heating on for about 30 minutes but all the radiators around my house won't heat up. The boiler seems to be working perfectly. Whats wrong with it?

The room is about 10x13 and I have electric baseboard heat, just pulled a 6 footer out or there looking to replace it with a newer one. IS this the size I need for that area? Also, looking to go with a hydronic baseboard, I heard they are much more efficient, is that true? Thanks

How substantial will the reduction in noise as heard from below and on the floor be when using Green Glue (www.greengluecompany.com) on top of your floor joists? If it is a good idea to put this on the joists should it be spead into a film over the entire joist or just lay down a wavy bead?

Is this even worth doing or are there better solutions for reducing impact and foot-fall noise?

During the daytime, the image quality is great, but nighttime viewing is impossible since the reflection from the night-vision IR lights reflect off the window the camera is pointed out of. Any suggestions as to how I can coat the small portion of window to block the reflection while allowing the camera to see through it?
