My furnace is a gas hot water system. Lately when it comes on I can hear some water running in the baseboards . It does it for maybe 2 minutes. Seems to be heating ok but wondered if this is normal?

Normal. Water flow can be heard especially when it kicks on and pushes the resident air out.

You might have a little air in the system. It needs to be bled off.

Most radiators have a bleed screw on one end or the other. Carefully loosen the screw until you hear air or water come out. tighten it when the water comes out. Repeat at all radiators as necessary.

There is often a bleed screw at the boiler too.

you may desire to no longer right here the water . you have air , might desire to bleed, in case you bypass down on your boiler. you will come across a faucet finding valve in lots of cases over the pump with an intensive of valve over it. close the valve open the faucet with a bucket or backyard hose linked ultimate out area. Wait a couple of minutes you may desire to right here air spitting out. whilst completed close area open valve.
