right ive just layed over 200...100mmx100mm (4x4) tiles,apart from the wall being out,gone like a dream. now ive grouted them,bits at a time,but no matter how quick i seem to go its setting on the tiles as quick as i can wipe it off. its took me longer to clean the tiles,than it has to lay them. the stuff ive used is adheshive and grout all in one. is there a better way,(quicker) or better grout to use ,because surely proffessional tilers dont muck about like this. or is it just a labour of love,and elbow grease????????
cheers,RIGGS.

I know how to mix shellac - dissolve in alcohol. I also have to use some of the following and am not sure as to the procedure:

* beeswax pellets (simply melt or dissolve in alcohol?)

* carnauba wax pellets (simply melt or dissolve in alcohol?)

* paraffin wax pellets (simply melt or dissolve in alcohol?)

* montan wax pellets (simply melt or dissolve in alcohol?)

* microcrystalline wax pellets (simply melt or dissolve in alcohol?)

Could you also state how to apply each to surfaces?

Thanks.

2-3 months ago I saw a product being sold on TV that was designed to remove stripped screws. It would even take out a screw that had the head completely gone. I wrote down the 800# and the name but now I can't find it. I want to get it for my husband for Christmas. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Ok. Mom was cleaning underwater frog water dumping dirty stuff into toilet w/ frog still in bowl...stupid, I know. The underwater frog fell into the toilet. Instead of staying in bowl, he slipped down and out of sight.

Is it possible he is somewhere in the 's' bend or would he have gone right out into the sewer system? She didn't flush the toilet, so same water.

Is there anyway to get him out if he is somewhere inside the 's' bend of the toilet?

I've heard these types of frogs could survive in "toilet water" if necessary. But if he's been pushed to the sewer I know it's a goner.

It's a sibling's frog and had it for years! It's like 3 inches long and 1- 1 1/2 inches wide, so not tiny. Any tips, suggestions? Would really like to save him! Mom tried reaching for him but didn't realize there was an 's' bend.

HELP PLEASE!

I had a sewage pit and a sewage pump in the basement.

The check valve is at the lower part of the 8- foot vertical pipe ( just above the sewage pump) and
this vertical pipe is 8 feet high,
and then go horizontally to the main outlet sanitary pipe.

Whenever the pump stops, there is a big bang and vibration in the piping system.
The big bang has been annoying day and night and the vibration is loosening/damaging fixtures and pipings.

One of the plumbers said the check valve (existing is vertical) should be installed as near as possible to the pump and it would be better at horizontal level.

Is there any other better way I can do and Do It Myself?

Thanks

I'm making a feral cat shelter out of two big plastic storage bins: you put one inside the other & fill the space between them with insulation of some kind. But you have to cut a "cat hole" thru both bins. I tried a utlity knife. Then I got this drill bit at Home Depot that's supposed to act like a saw to cut straight & curved lines. I thought that would work, but it doesn't seem to at all.

The hose that came with my compressor was too small so I decided to upgrade the size. The one that I bought has male threaded ends.

I have a brass connector piece that has a female threaded end to screw onto the male hose end as well as the standard male end to go into the quick release thing on my compressor.

My question is, when I attach the adapter piece of the hose, how tight should I make it?

If
1 = light finger tightning
2 = medium finger tighting
3 = tight finger tightning
4 = max finger tightning
5 = 4 + a light wrench tightnen
6 = 4 + a medium wrench tightnen
7 = 4 + a tight wrench tighten
8 = 4 + maximum wrench tighten

Does anyone recommend teflon tape on the threads?

Thanks

I was told by someone a while back about a way to repair a guitar nut string guide that was accidently filed down too low causing the string to buzz by using some kind of glue (maybe crazy glue) and (possibly) baking soda concoction. I don't remember exactly what he mentioned, but it supposedly dries as hard as the nut it's self, and fixes the problem. I'm hoping that someone out there knows what I'm refering to

I am installing a washer and dryer on the second floor of my home. The location is right next to a bathroom, so my idea is to run a flexible drain tube through the wall and connect using a Y fitting to the sink drain. The units are newer Maytag units, and I'm just wondering if the pressure from the washing machine unloading its water would cause the sink to overflow?

This is a bit of an odd question :) but instead of building a new house on my property, couldnt I, say, buy an old craftsman house in Detroit where homes cost $10k and move it all the way to California? So what if it costs me $20k to move it. Id be recycling and have an interesting old home.

#1- is it even possible to move a home that far of a distance.
#2- what would something like that cost? Im not talking about a big house, something like 1000-1500 sq ft.

Hi. For school, I am doing a project on Native Americans. We have to do a project on tobacco, and the things they smoked it out of. My friend though it would be a good idea to buy a pipe, but I am only 13. In Ohio, is there a certain age you have to be to buy pipes?

I have a five foot by two and a half foot granite table top which has no holes cut in it. Is this okay to lie flat in a pickup flatbed? The delivery truck I know has those teepee things to tilt it up on. How important is that if you have a small top? If I get delivery it is 2-3 hundred dollars so I want to carry it myself if it is okay.

Hi there,

I have recently purchased a house which has a ghastly 1980's fire surround that I want to change, any ideas on how to remove it, I cannot see any screws or any brackets holding the fireplace onto the wall, is there a good chance it could have been glued to the wall. If so is there any way to remove the fireplace from the wall without it ripping the plaster to shreds?

kind regards,

Warren

I own a solid wood furniture store and am considering buying some product which contains lunmber-core. i researched it some online and there isn't much information out on it. I would like to find out if it has the same qualities as regular ply-wood veneer, if it's considered solid wood, if you can fix dents and scratches like solid wood, etc. Any info is greatly appreciated!

I need to polish my black leather shoes for a party tonight but am unable to get to the store. Are there any easy home recipes for polish? Would a light dab of olive oil on a cloth and then buffing it with another cloth work, or would that be too messy/ineffective?
